Stories of Feeding God's Children Hungry in Body & Spirit

From packing to distribution: the journey of a meal

From packing to distribution: the journey of a meal

At FMSC, we understand that proper nutrition is about giving children the ability to thrive, grow and reach their full potential. This is our why — and how we do it is simple: donations given by people just like you fund the meal ingredients. Volunteers hand-pack the meals. Meals are donated to FMSC food partners around the world, where kids are fed and lives are saved!

1. Volunteers hand-pack the meals

Most of our meals are hand-packed by volunteers — individuals just like you turning hunger into hope with their own two hands. When packing meals by hand, it becomes a personal, impactful experience. It transforms an experience from just “something good to do” into something deeply personal.
Volunteers come together in Arizona, Illinois, Minnesota, Texas and all around the United States through MobilePack™ events to put together bags of food. They are made of soy, rice, dried vegetables and a nutritionally complete blend of vitamins and minerals. These ingredients are put into bags which are then sealed and boxed to be shipped.

2. Meals are donated to FMSC food partners

We donate our meals and ship them to our incredible partners working hard to reach hungry children around the world. Our partners are an exceptional network of missions and humanitarian organizations who are on the ground getting meals to those who need them the most. By God’s grace, more than 99% of FMSC meals have reached their intended destination.

3. The meals are distributed to those who need them the most

We partner with organizations and ministries around the world to get lifechanging meals to the people who need them most. In each of these countries, our partners are committed to getting nutritious food to those who need it most. Whether it’s by boat, motorcycle or horseback, our incredible food partners make sure they reach the most needy and vulnerable — no matter the conditions.

4. The meals are eaten and lives are changed!

Malnutrition in children is a serious issue that can have long-lasting effects on their physical and cognitive development. When children do not receive adequate nutrition, it can lead to stunted growth, weakened immune systems and a host of other health problems. This nutritional deficiency makes it difficult for them to focus in school, as their bodies and brains lack the essential nutrients needed to function properly. That’s why FMSC has worked hard to create nutritious meal formulas that really meet the need of starving people, and this food makes a real impact on their lives. When those who need the meals receive it, they can then work on becoming stronger and more active within their communities.
No one should have to face hunger, especially when we have the power to do something about it. You can get involved with the journey of a meal by volunteering now
