Crisis in Haiti: The streets are empty but hunger is everywhere

Haiti’s hunger crisis has reached catastrophic levels. Armed gangs have seized control of communities in Port-au-Prince, forcing families to flee and cutting off food supplies. Streets are empty, but hunger is everywhere.

A recent survey found that nearly 9 in 10 people are going an entire day without eating. Between March and June, 2 million people are expected to face “emergency” levels of hunger — meaning severe food shortages, malnutrition and even death.

FMSC partners are on the ground, risking everything to get food where it’s needed most. The security situation is so dangerous that we can’t share their names, locations or even how they’re transporting food. But we can tell you this: Your action today can truly save lives in Haiti and other crises around the world. Donate now
