About Cambodia
Cambodia is a country in Southeast Asia that borders Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. Cambodia is a predominately Theravada Buddhist country and much of their lives are dictated by their beliefs. After devastating destruction from war in the 1970's and 1980's, its population has grown to over 13 million due to the overthrow in government in 1997. Since then, reconstruction efforts have been made to their cultural, economic, social, and political lives. Most of Cambodia's cities are located at sea level or near one of three major rivers, so floods are expected during the wet season. The country's main industries are clothing and tourism with number of visitors reaching past the 1.7 million mark.
